Breaking a boat is certainly a safety issue, if not the end of a competition; the inability of the hull to absorb shocks hinder performance as it makes the ride less smooth; and noise prevents sailors from sleeping during long competitions and creates an overall unpleasant environment detrimental to any world-class athlete’s performance.
Tenron together with Innovation Yachts decided to solve these issues. It was also clearly important to the project not to compromise on weight, a key factor of performance.
